Jacqui Ramos Participates in Statewide Transportation Conference

Jacqui Ramos

Urban Studies senior Jacqui Ramos participated in the 23rd Annual California Transportation Foundation (CTF) Transportation Education Symposium at the Lake Arrowhead Resort on November 2 and 3. The Symposium brings together 38 students from across the state with a like number of high-level practicing professionals in interactive sessions exploring today’s real world of transportation engineering and planning.

Ramos is currently completing a senior capstone research project on physical and social connectivity in Songdo, a “smart city” or “ubiquitous city” in South Korea. Ramos’s interest in transportation was influenced by a quarter at Stanford in New York, when she interned for Sidewalk Labs and their company, Flow. Ramos focused there on Vision Zero, the goal of eliminating all traffic fatalities and major injuries. Ramos said in an email that she “will continue to be part of the team focusing on developing better physical connectivity in our cities through multimodal transportation and streets that are designed especially for people.”
