Bridging Academic Research and Community Action
Date
Wed November 8th 2017, 5:00 - 6:00pm
Location
Donald Kennedy (DK) room of the Haas Center

The Program on Urban Studies is excited to have Clayton Hurd, Senior Program Director at Haas, in our first quarterly Discover talk! He directs the Public Service Scholars Program (PSSP), the Community-Based Research (CBR) Fellowship Program, and the Graduate Public Service Fellows (GPS) Program at the Haas Center while also lecturing in the Program on Urban Studies. On campus, he supports both undergraduate and graduate students in trying to bridge their passions on community service and action with their academic work and research at local, national, and global scales.

Join the Urban Studies community this Wednesday, November 8 at the Donald Kennedy (DK) Room at the Haas Center from 5 - 6 pm in hearing about Clayton's past work, seeing his work in action through a showing of Desplazado (description below), and talking with Clayton about the joys and tensions in this field of work.
